QotD: Pet Project
Do you have a pet? What kind of pet do you own, and why did you choose it?

We currently have two cats and one fish.
We have had Bob the cat for about 7 years. Bob is an inside cat only and is orange with long hair. My second cousin found him under her car at work when he was just 3-4 months old. Her cat didn’t get along with him so we adopted him. He was all feet and ears and pretty sad looking but with care and a little love and spoiling he has become quite a pretty cat. He is the most independent cat we have and if he wants loving he will let you know otherwise he is a “please leave me alone” cat.
Kitty is our newest cat. He is a short hair orange cat and spends most of his time outside. We brought him with us when we moved and officially adopted him. Prior to that we fed him but assumed he belonged to someone else until we ventured back to our old home a month later and found him matted, bloody from fights, and starving. We certainly couldn’t leave him like that so we loaded him up and brought him home. He still isn’t liking the litter box so he doesn’t stay inside all the time. He is very sweet and cuddly and won’t fight back in a cat fight.
Our final pet is our fishy. He is a goldfish we have had for almost a year now. We actually bought four fish - one for each kid - but three died from Ick. We managed to nurse the last one back to health and he is doing great.
The kids would like a dog and so would we but since we are gone 10-12 hours per day, I don’t think it would be fair to a dog to leave them like that. Maybe someday.
