QotD: Guest vs. Host
For a full sit-down dinner with several guests, would you rather be the one cooking or do you prefer to just show up and eat?
I like to be the one cooking, not necessarily because I am a good cook, mostly because I like to entertain. I like all of the work that goes into having people over. I like to plan the menu, make the food, organize fun beverages, plan the entertainment, decorate…all that stuff.
I enjoy the party from the hostess standpoint the most. I get a real kick out of serving guests tasty dishes, fun drinks, and making sure everyone has a good time. I love the feeling I get after a successful party. Perhaps if I wasn’t in technology, I would be in a career along those lines.
I don’t like to attend parties where I am a guest nearly as much. I am not comfortable being waited on and having nothing to do but relax.I find doing all the work is more relaxing for me than just hanging out.
