Dear Kansas City:
Why must you dress so badly? Are we seriously a city where it is acceptable to run around in Fruit of the Loom sweatpants and sport flip flops for every errand we must run? I am all for a lazy day here and there but to always look like you have the flu and must run out to grab some OJ is a tad extreme! And the pajama pants in public! Can’t we even get dressed?
Since when did denim jeans become too dressy for the weekend? Heaven forbid a casual skirt or Dockers slacks be worn anywhere but work. Don’t we care enough about ourselves to get dressed before going out on errands for the day?
I remember when a night on the town in Kansas City had everyone looking sharp. Anymore if I wear slacks and heels to an evening comedy show I stick out in the crowd as badly as if I were wearing a formal to a movie theater. What’s the deal Kansas City? Show us you love yourselves! Show us some character! Leave the frumpy sweats at home!

I don’t get the PJ bottom thing either. If I’m feeling too lazy to walk back into the bedroom and put my jeans on, I probably have no business going anywhere. Someday people will figure this out. Until then, we will just have to hope they wear the cute Target PJs and not ratty old dad PJs.
Just don’t.
Things I witnessed this week at work that no one should do in my opinion. Ever.
- Pajama pants in public. White pajama pants are especially heinous. I really don’t want to see your undergarments no matter how hot/cute/sexy you are.
- Slippers to class. If you are paying to take college courses, take the time to put on actual shoes before heading to school.
- Fanny packs. Just don’t. Men, women; around the waist or over the shoulder - it is still a fanny pack. Get a messenger bag that will hold your gadgets and books and media and look good whether you are a guy or a girl.
- White athletic socks with loafers. You think no one notices your socks? Oh, they do.
- Tube tops to work or class. If you aren’t heading straight to a club for a night out, put a jacket on or wear something else. It’s hard to take someone seriously in a professional setting when they are that bare.

Have to agree with you on most of them except for the socks. Someone has to explain to me what’s wrong with athletic socks lol :p . Not that I wear them, but I wonder what people have against them.
New bags! Any recommendations on a stylish laptop bag?
I bought a new handbag last night that I am totally in love with. I spotted it last month and have been thinking about it ever since. It became a must have obsession. I finally bought it, and it cost way more than I normally would spend on a bag, but like I said, it is a love affair.
Isn’t it gorgeous!
The problem I have now is, it is way to big to carry with my huge Dell laptop backpack - not to mention that the backpack is as ugly as sin. I have been wanting a new laptop bag for a bit, and now I have an excellent excuse to get a fabulous one! Here are a few I am looking at. I really want a stylish one that will hold my 17 inch laptop and a portfolio folder but not be bulky and ugly and not cost over approx. $150 USD. With four kids and a relocation plan in motion, I have a budget. If anyone has any recommendations, please share!!

The Komen Geneva from Mobile Edge:
Or even better, one of the great cases from Snap Design
:
A dream bag? The Begeren Tibeca laptop bag which retails at a measly $1,375 USD.
Please share any recommendations and opinions that you may have regarding a new bag. =)Comment posted by Eol Ruin
